Each country has its special arts and crafts. In Tunisia's case, a walk through any old street is bound to make the visitor discover beautiful doorways, lavishly decorated and painted, as pictured in the collection below.

The designs made of black metal knobs and the bright blue colors are particularly well liked in Tunisia. The ornateness of these doors often contrasts markedly with the apparent simplicity of the houses they lead into, as the last door shows.

Some doors have a built-in smaller door -- entering through the smaller door reminds you to bow to the inhabitants!
